To bag or not to bag? That is the question. If you answered yes to at least three of the following questions then you should look at a bagless canister vacuum cleaner because your answer is, NOT to bag!

Do you want to save money by not purchasing bags?
Are you tired of throwing dirty bags in the garbage and making more waste?
Do you have hardwood floors in 50% or more of your home?
Do you want less dust in the air, so you won’t sneeze so much?
Don’t you think Johnny Depp is really hot?

Cheating just a little. Question number three is really about canister vacuums. You should use one if you have hardwood floors. But, a bagless canister vacuum cleaner is a good choice in any case because canisters usually come with fun extra attachments to clean around the edges, fit behind furniture, wands for the drapes and other hard to reach or hard to clean areas.  A stick or upright vacuum is easy to move around and will work on hard surface floors, but they don’t come with all those fun gadgets and they aren’t as powerful.

There is a wide range of selection and prices in bagless canister vacuum cleaners. With more companies getting on the bagless bandwagon lately, vacuums are becoming even more efficient.  When you choose features, take a close look at vacuums with a HEPA filter.  HEPA=good, berry good, mon.  HEPA be berry, berry good to me. The letters stand for high efficiency particulate arresting.  We all know what that means.  Yup. All that naughty dirt and dust is trapped in the little cup and cannot get out. Ever! Or in professional terms, a HEPA filter means it is efficient at alleviating particles that cause allergies. Another feature to look for in a bagless canister vacuum is the length of the cord. The longer the cord the better. Some machines come with a 50 ft. cord which is good. Why? You won’t have to plug and unplug so often when you move to different areas. You will be able to do the stairway without trying to do a vucuum/step balancing act. Plus, it will be much handier when you use all the attachments.

One last tip.  Take the bagless canister cleaner vacuum outside to empty the container with all the stuff in it. That way you won’t worry about being a klutz, spilling the debris and starting over.
